Tired of the Crap

I am sick and damn tired of people only looking at one or two aspects of this next election. "President Bush is saving our ass from terrorism and liberated Iraq" or "President Bush lied to the American public"

I don't care

Don't compare Bush to FDR, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, H Bush, or Clinton. He's been president for awhile and is re-elected or not based on his own record.

Is the country, and more specifically, am I better off than I was four years ago.
What is the plan for addressing the economy - don't tell me it's strong, because you're delusional if you think it is.
What is the plan for improving the education system - don't tell me "no child left behind" is working, talk to a teacher and you'll find just how much it sucks.
What is the plan for healthcare - my parents are getting older and I need to know that I can take care of them.

This election should not be about Iraq and terrorism.
We took out al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan - good. But that country still needs help, and has asked for help, but yet we don't have the resources in country to do that. They're all in Iraq. Plus, bin Laden is still at large.
We shouldn't have gone after Iraq. But hindsight is 20-20 as they say (typically worse though). Evidence at the beginning of the war seemed to indicate that we should have - and so we did. Don't change the message about 'liberating' the Iraqi people. We went to war because we were led to believe that Hussein was deceiving the world about his weapons programs. We did not go to war to promote democracy, to get better access to Iraqi oil, or to save the Iraqi people from a dictatorship. If we did go to war for those reasons, then Bush should be brought to trial for violating the sovereign rights of another country. The fact that there was no weapons only indicates there was deception, from either Hussein or Bush.
This election is not about prisoner abuse. That series of incidents damages our credibility in the mideast more than any other. The fact (or rumor depending on your POV) that prisoner abuse has happened in every conflict before now does not justify it. We got caught. If there was winking acknowledgement from the upper echelons of the government then there should be trials.
This election is not about war records.
This election is not about flip-flops - both candidates have flipped and flopped.

No, this election is about me. What is Bush or Kerry (or technically Nader too) going to do to make my life better in the next four years.

Now, if you want my personal opinions - and your only choice from this point on is to stop reading.
I believe that Bush misled the American people and went to war in Iraq for his own personal agenda.
I believe that Bush is fiscally irresponsible.
I believe that Bush's education program is horrible.
I believe that Bush's environmental programs are more damaging than anything ever put into place before.
I believe that Bush has no healthcare agenda.
I believe the "war on terror" is a farce.
I believe that Bush has terrific speech writers, but he personally is an idiot.

I have plenty of reasons to not vote for Bush. I'm not sure I have any reasons to vote for Kerry, other than to get Bush out of office.
